FIELD TRIP: Iron Mountain Ceanothus

On our way to Anza Borrego we passed through the city or Poway, CA and stopped off at the Iron Mountain Trailhead for an incredible hike along a sea of Woollyleaf Ceanothus, Ceanothus tomentosus. To see this mountain covered in drifts of lavender was very special, and it deepened my love for the incredibly diverse woody species of Ceanothus.
